Description

Ingredients

  • 5 large eggs
  • 1 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded Monterey Jack cheese
  • 1 tablespoon unsalted butter, softened


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a 9×13 baking dish with softened butter.
  2. Whisk together eggs, milk, flour, baking powder, salt, and black pepper in a large bowl until smooth.
  3. Arrange half of the green chiles in the prepared baking dish.
  4. Sprinkle half of the cheddar cheese and Monterey Jack cheese over the chiles.
  5. Repeat with remaining chiles and cheeses.
  6. Pour the egg mixture evenly over the layered ingredients.
  7. Bake uncovered for 40 to 45 minutes until golden and set in the center.
  8. Let the casserole rest for 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
