Description

A creamy and comforting baked dish made with tender sweet potato layers and rich melted cheese, perfect for cozy meals or sharing with family.


Ingredients

  • 4 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and thinly sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 180°C.
  2. In a bowl, whisk together milk, flour, minced garlic, salt, and black pepper until smooth.
  3. Lightly grease a baking dish with butter.
  4. Layer sliced sweet potatoes in the dish, pour some of the milk mixture, then sprinkle cheese. Repeat layers until all ingredients are used.
  5. Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes.
  6. Remove foil and bake for another 15 minutes until golden and bubbly.
  7. Let rest for 5 minutes before serving.
