Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F and line a large baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking soda, and salt.
- In a large bowl, beat the softened butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract, then mix until smooth.
- Add the dry ingredients and mix just until a soft dough forms.
- Divide the dough evenly between two bowls.
- Mix the matcha powder into one bowl until evenly green.
- Mix the freeze-dried strawberry powder into the other bowl until evenly pink.
- Scoop about 1 tablespoon of green dough and 1 tablespoon of pink dough, press them gently together, and roll lightly to form marbled dough balls.
- Place the dough balls on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each one.
- Bake for 10 to 12 minutes, until the edges are set and the centers are still soft.
- Cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Sift the matcha powder before mixing for a smoother dough.
- Use freeze-dried strawberry powder, not fresh strawberries, for the best texture.
- If the dough feels too soft, chill the shaped dough balls for 10 minutes before baking.
