Ingredients

  • 1 1/4 cups warm water

  • 2 medium fresh jalapenos, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix bread flour, sourdough starter, warm water, sugar, and salt until a dough forms. Fold in sliced jalapenos and shredded cheddar cheese.
  3. Knead the dough on a clean surface until smooth, then let it rest and rise until slightly puffy.
  4. Divide the dough into equal portions, shape into balls, and form bagel rings.
  5. Bring a pot of water to a gentle simmer and boil each bagel for 1 minute per side.
  6. Transfer bagels to the baking sheet and bake for 20 to 25 minutes until golden brown.
