A rich and indulgent sandwich that combines crispy fried chicken with soft, golden French toast and a drizzle of maple syrup for the perfect sweet and savory bite.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 thick bread slices
  • 2 boneless chicken thighs
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 cup flour
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 cups vegetable oil

Instructions

  1. Heat vegetable oil in a deep skillet over medium heat until ready for frying.
  2. In one bowl, mix flour, cornstarch, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder.
  3. In another bowl, whisk eggs, milk, cinnamon, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Coat chicken in the flour mixture, dip in egg mixture, then coat again in flour mixture.
  5. Fry the chicken in hot oil for 6 to 8 minutes per side until golden and fully cooked.
  6. Remove chicken and let it rest on a wire rack.
  7. Dip bread slices into the custard mixture briefly.
  8. Heat butter in a pan and cook the soaked bread until golden on both sides.
  9. Place fried chicken between two slices of French toast.
  10. Drizzle maple syrup over the sandwich and serve warm.

Notes

  • Let the chicken rest after frying to keep it crispy.
  • Do not soak the bread too long or it may fall apart.
  • Cook in batches to avoid overcrowding the pan.
  • Serve immediately for best texture and flavor.
