Description

A creamy, bright, and zesty cilantro lime sauce made with fresh cilantro, lime juice, garlic, sour cream, and mayonnaise. Perfect for tacos, bowls, grilled meats, roasted vegetables, wraps, and dipping.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 packed cup fresh cilantro leaves and tender stems
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 to 2 tablespoons water, optional for thinning

Instructions

  1. Prepare your blender or food processor and gather all ingredients.
  2. Add the cilantro, sour cream, mayonnaise, lime juice, garlic cloves, olive oil, salt, and black pepper to the blender.
  3. Secure the lid tightly and blend until smooth and creamy.
  4. Add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water only if you want a thinner sauce.
  5. Blend for another 20 to 30 seconds until the texture is silky and fully combined.
  6. Taste and adjust with a little more salt or lime juice if needed.
  7. Chill for at least 15 minutes for the best flavor, then serve with tacos, bowls, grilled meats, vegetables, or as a dip.

Notes

  • Use fresh lime juice for the brightest flavor.
  • Tender cilantro stems can be used because they blend well and add flavor.
  • For a lighter version, replace sour cream with Greek yogurt.
  • Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 4 days.
  • Freezing is not recommended because the creamy texture may separate.
