Description

A rich and romantic heart shaped chocolate cake layered with strawberry filling, coated in glossy chocolate ganache, and topped with fresh chocolate covered strawberries.


Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1 cup hot coffee
  • 2 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 cups fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 cup white chocolate
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam


Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F and grease a heart shaped cake pan.
  2. Whisk together flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a large bowl.
  3. Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.
  4. Slowly stir in hot coffee until fully combined.
  5. Pour batter into the prepared cake pan and bake for 30 to 35 minutes.
  6. Allow cake to cool completely before slicing into layers.
  7. Heat heavy cream until warm and pour over chocolate chips. Let sit for 2 minutes, then stir until smooth to create ganache.
  8. Beat butter, powdered sugar, and strawberry jam together until creamy.
  9. Spread strawberry filling between cake layers.
  10. Coat the cake with chocolate ganache.
  11. Decorate with fresh strawberries dipped in melted white chocolate.
  12. Chill slightly before slicing and serving.
