- 1/2 cup cold unsalted butter, cubed
- 1 cup sharp cheddar cheese, freshly shredded
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tablespoon fresh chives, chopped
- 3/4 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon honey
- 2 tablespoons melted butter
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 425°F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and garlic powder.
- Cut the cold butter into the flour mixture until crumbly.
- Stir in cheddar cheese, parsley, and chives.
- Add milk and honey, then gently mix until the dough just comes together.
- Transfer dough to a lightly floured surface and pat into a 1-inch thick rectangle.
- Cut biscuits using a biscuit cutter and place on the prepared baking sheet.
- Bake for 14 to 16 minutes until golden brown.
- Brush hot biscuits with melted butter and serve warm.
Notes
- Use very cold butter for flaky layers.
- Do not overmix the dough.
- Freshly shredded cheddar melts better than pre-shredded cheese.
- Biscuits can be frozen before baking.
