Description
A vibrant, thirst-quenching Mexican-style drink made from sweet watermelon, fresh lime, and a splash of water for the ultimate summer refresher.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups watermelon, cubed and chilled
- 2 cups cold water
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 2 tablespoons sugar, to taste
- 1–2 cups ice cubes
- Handful fresh mint leaves, optional for garnish
Instructions
- Combine watermelon, cold water, fresh lime juice, and sugar in a blender.
- Blend on high until completely smooth, about 30–60 seconds.
- Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher if a smoother texture is desired.
- Stir, taste, and adjust sweetness or lime to preference.
- Fill glasses with ice and pour the agua fresca over the ice.
- Garnish with mint leaves or thin watermelon slices and serve immediately.
Notes
- Chill the watermelon beforehand for extra-cold results without over-diluting with ice.
- Use frozen watermelon cubes in place of ice to avoid dilution.
- Add sparkling water just before serving for a bubbly twist.
- Store refrigerated up to 2 days, then stir before serving as separation can occur.
