Description

A vibrant, thirst-quenching Mexican-style drink made from sweet watermelon, fresh lime, and a splash of water for the ultimate summer refresher.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups watermelon, cubed and chilled
  • 2 cups cold water
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 2 tablespoons sugar, to taste
  • 12 cups ice cubes
  • Handful fresh mint leaves, optional for garnish

Instructions

  1. Combine watermelon, cold water, fresh lime juice, and sugar in a blender.
  2. Blend on high until completely smooth, about 30–60 seconds.
  3. Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a pitcher if a smoother texture is desired.
  4. Stir, taste, and adjust sweetness or lime to preference.
  5. Fill glasses with ice and pour the agua fresca over the ice.
  6. Garnish with mint leaves or thin watermelon slices and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Chill the watermelon beforehand for extra-cold results without over-diluting with ice.
  • Use frozen watermelon cubes in place of ice to avoid dilution.
  • Add sparkling water just before serving for a bubbly twist.
  • Store refrigerated up to 2 days, then stir before serving as separation can occur.
