Description

Viral Pickle Sandwich is a crunchy, tangy, and savory layered sandwich featuring pickle slices, cheeses, deli meats, and fresh veggies, all dressed with a flavorful Italian grinder dressing. Perfect for a fun and unique lunch or snack.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 6-8 sandwich slice pickles (e.g., Vlasic sandwich stackers)
  • 1 cup medium cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 slices genoa salami
  • 8 slices pepperoni
  • 4 slices turkey
  • ½ head iceberg lettuce, finely shredded
  • ¼ red onion, thinly sliced
  • ⅓ cup banana peppers, chopped
  • ½ tomato, sliced
  • Italian Grinder Salad Dressing:
    • 3 tablespoons mayonnaise
    • 1-2 tablespoons red wine vinegar (adjust to taste)
    • ¼ cup parmesan cheese, freshly grated, divided
    • ¼ tsp garlic powder, divided
    • ¾ tsp Italian seasoning
    • ½ tsp freshly cracked pepper

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, combine mayonnaise, red wine vinegar, half of the parmesan cheese, half of the garlic powder, Italian seasoning, and freshly cracked pepper to make the Italian grinder dressing. Mix well.
  2. Lay out pickle slices on a serving plate or cutting board as the base for the sandwich.
  3. Layer shredded cheddar cheese over pickles, followed by genoa salami, pepperoni, and turkey slices.
  4. Top meats with shredded lettuce, thinly sliced red onion, banana peppers, and tomato slices.
  5. Drizzle the prepared Italian grinder dressing evenly over the top of the layered sandwich.
  6. Sprinkle remaining parmesan cheese and garlic powder over the top for extra flavor.
  7. Serve as a stacked sandwich with toothpicks or cut into smaller sections for sharing.

Notes

  • Use sandwich stacker pickles for the best structure and crunch.
  • Adjust the amount of red wine vinegar in the dressing to control tanginess.
  • Optional: add a drizzle of hot sauce for a spicy kick.
  • Best served immediately to maintain crispness of pickles and veggies.
