- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 small green bell pepper, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 3 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 4 hamburger buns
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Prepare all ingredients by chopping vegetables and measuring sauces.
- Add olive oil to the skillet, then sauté onion and green bell pepper for about 3 minutes until softened. Add garlic and cook for another minute.
- Add ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in tomato sauce, ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for 15 to 20 minutes until thickened.
- Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
- Spoon the mixture onto hamburger buns and serve warm.
