Description
Tirokafteri is a zesty Greek whipped feta dip with a kick of spice from fresh green peppers. Creamy, tangy, and slightly smoky, it’s perfect as a starter or appetizer served with warm pita bread.

For the Spicy Whipped Feta:
- 250 g (8.8 oz) feta cheese, at room temperature
- 100 g (3.5 oz) Greek yogurt
- 1 hot green pepper (about 40 g / 1.4 oz)
- 1 garlic clove
- 3 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
- 1 tbsp red wine or apple cider vinegar
To Serve With:
- Pita bread
- Paprika, for garnish
- Dried oregano, for garnish
- Extra virgin olive oil, for drizzling
Instructions
- In a food processor, combine the feta cheese, Greek yogurt, hot green pepper, and garlic clove. Blend until smooth.
- With the processor running, slowly drizzle in the olive oil and vinegar until the mixture is creamy and well combined.
- Transfer the whipped feta dip to a serving bowl.
- Sprinkle with paprika and dried oregano, and drizzle with extra virgin olive oil.
- Serve immediately with warm pita bread for dipping.
Notes
- Remove seeds from the green pepper if you prefer a milder dip.
- The dip can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
- Adjust the amount of hot pepper according to your spice preference.
