Description

These stuffed sweet rolls are pillowy soft and filled with a creamy vanilla cream cheese center. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert, they’re sweet, warm, and impossible to resist.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 ¼ teaspoons active dry yeast
  • ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup whole milk, warm
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, softened
  • ½ cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a bowl, combine warm milk, yeast, and 1 tablespoon of sugar. Let sit for 5–10 minutes until foamy.
  3. Add the remaining sugar, eggs, melted butter, salt, and flour. Mix and knead until dough is soft and slightly tacky.
  4. Transfer dough to a greased bowl, cover, and let rise in a warm spot for 1 hour or until doubled.
  5. Roll out dough into a large rectangle. In a separate bowl, mix cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth.
  6. Spread filling evenly over the dough. Roll it up tightly and slice into 12 even pieces.
  7. Place rolls in the prepared dish. Cover and let rise for another 30 minutes.
  8. Bake for 25–30 minutes until golden brown on top.
  9. Brush warm rolls with melted butter and, if desired, sprinkle with sugar or drizzle with icing.
  10. Serve warm and enjoy.

Notes

  • Use room-temperature ingredients for the filling to ensure a smooth spread.
  • Slice dough using unflavored dental floss for clean edges.
  • Let the dough rise in a warm, draft-free environment for best results.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container or freeze for up to 2 months.
