Description

This Strawberry Banana Pudding Dessert is a layered, no-bake treat made with creamy vanilla pudding, fresh strawberries and bananas, and a fluffy whipped topping over a bed of vanilla wafers. It’s a fruity twist on the classic Southern banana pudding, perfect for gatherings and potlucks.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 (5.1 oz) box instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 1/2 cups cold milk
  • 1 (8 oz) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 (8 oz) container whipped topping (like Cool Whip), thawed
  • 4 bananas, sliced
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 box vanilla wafer cookies

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, whisk together the pudding mix and milk until smooth and thickened. Set aside.
  2. In another bowl, beat cream cheese until smooth. Add the sweetened condensed milk and mix until well combined.
  3. Fold the prepared pudding into the cream cheese mixture. Then gently fold in half of the whipped topping.
  4. In a 9×13-inch dish, layer vanilla wafers on the bottom.
  5. Top with half of the banana slices and half of the strawberry slices.
  6. Spread half of the pudding mixture over the fruit layer.
  7. Repeat the layers: wafers, remaining bananas and strawberries, then the remaining pudding mixture.
  8. Top with the remaining whipped topping and garnish with a few additional fruit slices if desired.
  9. Chill for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to meld.

Notes

  • Use firm but ripe bananas to prevent browning too quickly.
  • Short on time? Use store-bought whipped cream instead of whipping your own.
  • This dessert is best served within 1–2 days for optimal freshness.
