- 500 grams ground lamb
- 1 kg potatoes, peeled and chopped
- 2 medium carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 200°C.
- Boil the potatoes in salted water until tender, then drain and mash with butter and milk until smooth.
- Heat olive oil in a skillet, sauté onion and garlic until fragrant, then add ground lamb and cook until browned.
- Stir in carrots, peas, tomato paste, beef broth, salt, black pepper, and thyme, then let the mixture simmer until slightly thickened.
- Transfer the meat mixture to a baking dish and spread the mashed potatoes evenly on top.
- Bake for 25 minutes until the top is golden and slightly crisp.
- Let it rest for a few minutes before serving.
