Description

SAVORY PANCAKES FILLED WITH MEAT are a hearty and delicious twist on traditional pancakes, packed with savory meat filling, perfect for any meal of the day.

Ingredients

Scale

For the Pancake Batter

  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 1 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 Eggs
  • 1 cup Milk

For the Filling

  • 1 lb Ground Meat (beef, pork, or turkey)
  • 1 Onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • Salt and Pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup Cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Filling: In a skillet over medium heat, cook your choice of ground meat until browned. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, sautéing until fragrant and the onions become translucent. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  2. Make the Pancake Batter: In a mixing bowl, combine all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt. In another bowl, whisk together the eggs and milk. Gradually add the wet ingredients to the dry ingredients, stirring until just combined. Avoid overmixing for fluffy pancakes.
  3. Cook the Pancakes: Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat and lightly grease it. Pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, then add a spoonful of the meat filling in the center. Top with a little more batter to cover. Flip once golden brown and cook until the other side is golden as well.
  4. Serve and Enjoy: Remove the pancakes from the skillet and keep warm. Repeat the process until all batter and filling are used. Serve warm with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Don’t Overmix: A lumpy batter is ideal for fluffy pancakes, so mix until just combined.
  • Adjust Heat: If pancakes are browning too quickly, reduce the heat to ensure even cooking.
  • Resting the Batter: Letting the batter sit for a few minutes allows it to thicken, improving texture.
  • Use a Ladle: For uniform pancakes, use a ladle to pour the batter onto the skillet.
  • Experiment with Toppings: Try sour cream, salsa, or even a drizzle of honey for a unique taste.
