Ingredients

  • 2 sheets puff pastry, thawed
  • 300 grams mushrooms, sliced
  • 2 medium shallots, thinly sliced
  • 150 grams goat cheese
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 200°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat, sauté mushrooms until golden and moisture evaporates, then add shallots and garlic. Cook until soft. Stir in thyme, salt, and black pepper, then let cool slightly.
  3. Roll out puff pastry sheets and cut into even squares. Place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  4. Spoon the mushroom mixture onto each pastry square, leaving a small border. Add pieces of goat cheese on top.
  5. Brush the edges of the pastry with beaten egg.
  6. Bake for 18 to 22 minutes until the pastry is golden and puffed.
  7. Allow the tarts to cool slightly before serving.
