Description
Salmon Quiche is a savory tart made with a buttery crust filled with tender salmon, creamy eggs, and flavorful herbs. It’s perfect for brunch, lunch, or a light dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 9-inch pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
- 1 cup cooked salmon, flaked (can use canned salmon)
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (e.g., Swiss, Gruyère, or cheddar)
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup heavy cream or half-and-half
- 1/4 cup chopped green onions or leeks
- 1 tablespoon fresh dill (or 1 teaspoon dried dill)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: 1/4 teaspoon smoked paprika for added flavor
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). If using a raw pie crust, place it in a 9-inch pie dish and par-bake it for 8 minutes. Let it cool slightly.
- Evenly spread the flaked salmon over the bottom of the crust. Sprinkle the shredded cheese and green onions (or leeks) on top.
- In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, cream, dill, salt, pepper, and smoked paprika (if using) until well combined.
- Pour the egg mixture over the salmon and cheese in the crust.
- Bake for 35–40 minutes, or until the quiche is set and lightly golden on top. A knife inserted near the center should come out clean.
- Let the quiche cool for at least 10 minutes before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Can be served warm or at room temperature.
- Great make-ahead dish — store in the fridge and reheat gently before serving.
- Pairs well with a green salad or roasted vegetables for a complete meal.
- Substitute spinach or asparagus for added greens.
