Description
This Calzone-style pizza is a folded pizza filled with your favorite toppings like cheese, salami, onions, olives, and mushrooms. Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, it’s perfect for a fun homemade meal or snack.

For the calzone:
- Homemade pizza dough (see note 1)
- Flour for dusting
- Pizza sauce (see note 3)
- Cheese, shredded or sliced
- Salami slices
- 1 small onion, thinly sliced
- Olives, pitted and sliced
- Mushrooms, canned and sliced
- Olive oil, for brushing (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F) and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface into a circle or rectangle, about ¼ inch thick.
- Spread a thin layer of pizza sauce over half of the dough, leaving a border around the edges.
- Layer cheese, salami, onions, olives, and mushrooms over the sauce.
- Fold the dough over the fillings to form a half-moon shape and press the edges together to seal.
- Transfer the calzone to the prepared baking sheet and brush lightly with olive oil if desired.
- Bake for 15–20 minutes or until the crust is golden brown and cooked through.
- Remove from the oven and let cool slightly before slicing and serving.
Notes
- Note 1: Homemade pizza dough can be substituted with store-bought dough if preferred.
- Note 2: Feel free to customize the fillings with your favorite pizza toppings.
- Note 3: Pizza sauce can be homemade or store-bought; adjust seasoning to taste.
