Ingredients
Scale
- 6–8 medium fresh peaches, peeled and sliced
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 3/4 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon lemon juice
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large bowl, toss the sliced peaches with granulated sugar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and lemon juice. Let sit while you prepare the batter.
- Pour the peach mixture evenly into the prepared baking dish.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and milk until just combined. Stir in the melted butter and vanilla extract.
- Pour the batter evenly over the peaches. Do not stir.
- Bake for 40–45 minutes until the top is golden brown and the filling is bubbling.
- Let cool for 10–15 minutes before serving. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream if desired.
Notes
- Use ripe peaches for the best flavor and juiciness.
- Let the cobbler rest before serving so the filling can set.
- Sprinkle a little coarse sugar on top before baking for extra crunch.
- This recipe can be made with frozen or canned peaches if fresh are not available.
