- 12 oz penne pasta
- 1 lb raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
- 1 lb chicken pieces, sliced
- 2 cups sliced bell peppers
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 1 1/2 cups heavy cream
- 2 tablespoons Cajun seasoning
- 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions
- Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the penne pasta until al dente, then reserve some pasta water and drain.
- Season the shrimp and chicken pieces evenly with Cajun seasoning.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a large skillet over medium heat.
- Cook the chicken until golden and fully cooked, then remove and set aside. Cook the shrimp until just pink, then remove and set aside.
- In the same skillet, sauté garlic, onions, and bell peppers until softened and fragrant.
- Pour in the heavy cream and stir, then add grated parmesan cheese and mix until smooth.
- Return the chicken and shrimp to the skillet, then add the cooked pasta and toss everything together.
- Adjust the sauce consistency with reserved pasta water if needed and taste to adjust seasoning.
- Serve hot with extra parmesan if desired.

- Do not overcook the shrimp to keep them tender and juicy.
- Use freshly grated parmesan for the best texture and flavor.
- Add a splash of pasta water to loosen the sauce if it becomes too thick.
