Description
A rich and creamy one-pot meal that combines the comforting flavors of a cheeseburger with tender orzo pasta, all cooked together for an easy, satisfying dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup orzo pasta
- 450 grams ground beef
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 2 cups beef broth
- 2 tablespoons ketchup
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
- Add olive oil, then sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until soft and fragrant.
- Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
- Stir in tomato paste, ketchup, and mustard, mixing well with the beef.
- Add the orzo pasta and stir to coat it with the mixture.
- Pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
- Cover and cook until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
- Reduce heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
- Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.
Notes
- Use freshly shredded cheese for a smoother melt and better texture.
- If the dish becomes too thick, add a splash of broth while reheating.
- Let the skillet rest for a few minutes before serving to allow it to thicken naturally.
