Description

A rich and creamy one-pot meal that combines the comforting flavors of a cheeseburger with tender orzo pasta, all cooked together for an easy, satisfying dinner.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup orzo pasta
  • 450 grams ground beef
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons ketchup
  • 1 tablespoon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add olive oil, then sauté the chopped onion and minced garlic until soft and fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  4. Stir in tomato paste, ketchup, and mustard, mixing well with the beef.
  5. Add the orzo pasta and stir to coat it with the mixture.
  6. Pour in the beef broth and bring to a gentle simmer.
  7. Cover and cook until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  8. Reduce heat and stir in shredded cheddar cheese until melted and creamy.
  9. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
  10. Garnish with fresh parsley and serve warm.

Notes

  • Use freshly shredded cheese for a smoother melt and better texture.
  • If the dish becomes too thick, add a splash of broth while reheating.
  • Let the skillet rest for a few minutes before serving to allow it to thicken naturally.
