Description

A cozy and flavorful one pan lasagna made with tender noodles, rich tomato sauce, creamy ricotta, and gooey mozzarella — all cooked together in a single skillet for an easy yet satisfying meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 medium yellow onion, finely chopped
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 2 tablespoons tomato paste
  • 1 can (28 ounces) crushed tomatoes
  • 2 teaspoons Italian seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 810 lasagna noodles, broken into pieces, or 12 ounces short pasta
  • 3 cups chicken broth or water
  • 1 cup ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup fresh basil, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat olive oil in a large oven-safe skillet over medium heat.
  2. Combine Ingredients: Sauté onion until soft, add garlic, then cook ground beef until browned. Stir in tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, Italian seasoning, salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Add chicken broth and bring mixture to a simmer.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Stir in broken noodles, making sure they are submerged in sauce.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Cover and simmer 20–25 minutes, stirring occasionally, until pasta is al dente.
  6. Finishing Touches: Dollop ricotta, then sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan on top. Cover until melted or broil uncovered for bubbling cheese.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Garnish with fresh basil and serve warm.

Notes

  • Stir pasta occasionally to prevent clumping.
  • If sauce gets too thick, add a splash of broth or water.
  • Use freshly grated Parmesan for maximum flavor.
  • Let dish rest 5 minutes before serving for best results.
