- 500 grams ground beef
- 150 grams mozzarella cheese, cut into small cubes
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
- 1 large egg
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 180°C and lightly grease a baking dish.
- In a large bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, parmesan cheese, egg, minced garlic, parsley, salt, and black pepper until just mixed.
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce in the baking dish.
- Take a portion of the mixture, flatten it, place a cube of mozzarella in the center, and shape into a ball. Repeat for all meatballs.
- Arrange meatballs in the dish and pour remaining tomato sauce over them.
- Bake for 25 minutes until fully cooked through.
- Let rest for a few minutes before serving warm.
Notes
- Do not overmix the meat to keep the texture tender.
- Seal the cheese well inside each meatball to prevent leaking.
- Use freshly grated parmesan for best flavor.
