Ingredients
Scale
- 1 pound beef sirloin, thinly sliced
- 2 packs dry ramen noodles
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 cups beef broth
- 3 green onions, sliced
- 2 large eggs
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds, lightly toasted
Instructions
- Bring a saucepan of water to a gentle boil and heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
- In a mixing bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, brown sugar, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil until combined.
- Add a small splash of oil to the hot skillet and let it heat until shimmering.
- Add the thinly sliced beef and cook quickly until browned, then pour in the sauce mixture and stir well to coat the beef.
- Add the beef broth to the skillet and let everything simmer gently for a few minutes while you cook the ramen noodles separately according to the package directions.
- Soft boil the eggs, peel them, and slice them in half.
- Divide the cooked noodles between serving bowls, spoon the beef and broth over the top, then finish with green onions, egg halves, and toasted sesame seeds before serving.
Notes
- Slice the beef very thinly so it stays tender and cooks fast.
- Cook the noodles just until tender so they do not become too soft in the broth.
- Toast the sesame seeds lightly for extra nutty flavor.
- Add chili flakes or chili oil if you want a spicy version.
