Description

Maple Marshmallow M&M Bars are a delightful homemade treat combining gooey marshmallows, rich maple syrup, and colorful M&Ms for a perfect blend of sweet, creamy, and crunchy textures. Easy to prepare with minimal ingredients, these festive bars are ideal for snacks, parties, or cozy comfort food moments, loved by kids and adults alike.

Ingredients

Scale

Main Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh marshmallows
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup
  • 2 cups M&Ms, divided
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare Your Pan: Line a square baking pan with parchment paper or lightly grease it to make removing the bars easier once they are set.
  2. Melt Butter and Marshmallows: In a large pot over low heat, melt the butter until fully liquid. Add marshmallows and stir continuously until melted and smooth, creating the gooey base for your bars.
  3. Add Maple Syrup and Vanilla: Mix in maple syrup and vanilla extract until evenly combined, infusing the marshmallow mixture with signature sweet, cozy flavors. Add a pinch of salt if using.
  4. Stir in M&Ms: Gently fold in most of the M&Ms, reserving a small handful to sprinkle on top later.
  5. Press Mixture into Pan: Transfer the sticky marshmallow mixture into the prepared pan, pressing down firmly but gently to spread evenly.
  6. Sprinkle Remaining M&Ms: Scatter the last M&Ms on top of the bars, pressing lightly so they stick without sinking in.
  7. Let Set and Slice: Allow the bars to cool and set completely at room temperature, about 1-2 hours, before cutting into squares and serving.

Notes

  • Use fresh marshmallows for smoother melting and perfect texture.
  • Melt on low heat to avoid burning or graininess.
  • Press gently but firmly to avoid breaking the M&Ms.
  • Use parchment paper to easily remove bars and keep edges neat.
  • Wait until bars are fully set before cutting to prevent crumbling.
