Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/2 cup warm water
- 1 large egg
- 250g ground beef or lamb
- 1 small onion, finely chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup plain yogurt
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tbsp butter
- 1 tsp red pepper flakes
- 1 tsp dried mint (optional)
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix flour and salt. Add egg and warm water gradually to form a smooth dough. Knead for 8–10 minutes, cover, and rest for 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, combine ground meat, chopped onion, cumin, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Roll out the dough thinly on a floured surface and cut into 1.5-inch squares.
- Place a small amount of meat filling in the center of each square, fold and pinch the edges to seal, forming small dumplings.
- Bring a large pot of salted water to boil. Cook manti in batches for 8–10 minutes until they float and are cooked through. Drain.
- Mix yogurt with minced garlic and a pinch of salt.
- In a small pan, melt butter, add red pepper flakes and dried mint, cooking briefly until fragrant.
- Serve manti topped with garlic yogurt and drizzled with spiced butter oil.
Notes
- Use lamb or beef depending on preference.
- For a quicker version, premade wonton wrappers can be substituted.
