Description

Bright, flaky salmon seasoned with fresh lemon juice, cracked black pepper, and garlic, pan seared to golden perfection in just 25 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each
  • 2 medium lemons, one sliced and one juiced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm for a few minutes.
  2. In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice from one lemon, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper.
  3. Add a small drizzle of olive oil to the skillet and swirl to coat evenly.
  4. Pat the salmon fillets dry, then brush the lemon pepper mixture evenly over each piece. Place lemon slices on top of each fillet.
  5. Place the salmon skin side down in the skillet. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, then carefully flip and cook another 3 to 4 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
  6. Remove from heat and sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top.
  7. Serve immediately while warm and flaky, with extra lemon wedges if desired.

Notes

  • Pat the salmon dry before cooking to achieve a better golden crust.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan, cook in batches if necessary.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for the brightest flavor.
  • Let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes before serving to retain juices.
