Description
Bright, flaky salmon seasoned with fresh lemon juice, cracked black pepper, and garlic, pan seared to golden perfection in just 25 minutes.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 salmon fillets, about 6 ounces each
- 2 medium lemons, one sliced and one juiced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat a large skillet over medium heat and allow it to warm for a few minutes.
- In a small bowl, mix olive oil, minced garlic, lemon juice from one lemon, salt, and freshly cracked black pepper.
- Add a small drizzle of olive oil to the skillet and swirl to coat evenly.
- Pat the salmon fillets dry, then brush the lemon pepper mixture evenly over each piece. Place lemon slices on top of each fillet.
- Place the salmon skin side down in the skillet. Cook for 4 to 5 minutes, then carefully flip and cook another 3 to 4 minutes until the fish flakes easily with a fork and reaches an internal temperature of 145 degrees Fahrenheit.
- Remove from heat and sprinkle freshly chopped parsley over the top.
- Serve immediately while warm and flaky, with extra lemon wedges if desired.
Notes
- Pat the salmon dry before cooking to achieve a better golden crust.
- Do not overcrowd the pan, cook in batches if necessary.
- Use fresh lemon juice for the brightest flavor.
- Let the salmon rest for a couple of minutes before serving to retain juices.
