Description

A quick, flavorful dish of Korean-inspired ground beef and crisp broccoli in a savory-sweet garlic soy sauce, served over fluffy white rice. Perfect for weeknight dinners.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 3 cups broccoli florets
  • 1/3 cup soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 2 stalks green onions, sliced
  • 3 cups cooked white rice

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, whisk together soy sauce, brown sugar, garlic, ginger, cornstarch, and a splash of water. Set aside.
  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the ground beef until fully browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  3. Pour the sauce into the skillet with the beef and stir to coat. Let it simmer for a few minutes until slightly thickened.
  4. In another pan, lightly sauté or steam the broccoli until just tender and vibrant green.
  5. Stir the cooked broccoli into the beef mixture and cook for another minute to combine.
  6. Turn off the heat, drizzle sesame oil, and sprinkle sliced green onions over the top.
  7. Serve hot over cooked white rice.

Notes

  • Use fresh garlic and ginger for maximum flavor impact.
  • Double the sauce if you like it extra saucy or plan to drizzle more over rice.
  • You can prep the sauce and beef ahead to save time later.
  • For extra texture, sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds before serving.
