Ingredients
Scale
- 225 grams Halloumi Cheese: sliced into 1 cm thick slabs
- 60 grams All-Purpose Flour
- 2 large Eggs: beaten
- 120 grams Panko Breadcrumbs
- 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
- 1 teaspoon Paprika
- Salt and Pepper: to taste
- Olive Oil: for frying
- 2 tablespoons Hot Honey
- Fresh Parsley: for garnish
Instructions
- Heat a generous amount of olive oil in a non-stick skillet over medium-high heat until shimmering.
- In one bowl, place the flour. In a second, beat the eggs. In a third, mix panko breadcrumbs with garlic powder, paprika, salt, and pepper.
- Line a plate with paper towels for draining the fried schnitzel later.
- Dredge each halloumi slice first in flour, then in egg, and finally in the seasoned breadcrumbs. Press gently to ensure the coating sticks.
- Fry the halloumi slices for 2–3 minutes per side, or until golden brown and crisp. Avoid overcrowding the pan.
- Transfer to the paper towel-lined plate. While still warm, drizzle generously with hot honey.
- Garnish with fresh parsley and serve immediately.
Notes
- Use panko for a crunchier texture.
- Chill breaded slices before frying to help the crust stick better.
- Reheat leftovers in an oven or air fryer for best results.
- Add chili flakes to increase heat in the hot honey.
