Description

Hot Honey Chicken Cheesesteak Melt is the ultimate fusion of spicy, sweet, and savory. Juicy chicken thighs, caramelized peppers and onions, and melty cheeses are packed into a toasted hoagie roll, then drizzled with sticky hot honey for an irresistible finish.


Ingredients

  • 1.5 pounds chicken thighs, boneless and skinless
  • 4 hoagie rolls
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 4 slices provolone cheese
  • 1/4 cup hot honey
  • 1/4 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) if you want toasted sandwiches, and heat a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  2. In a bowl, mix the chicken thighs with olive oil, garlic powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Cook the seasoned chicken in the skillet for 6–8 minutes until browned and cooked through. Remove and slice thinly.
  4. In the same skillet, sauté the bell peppers and onion for 8–10 minutes until soft and caramelized. Return sliced chicken to the pan and mix.
  5. Lay provolone cheese over the hot mixture. Let it melt, then scoop into lightly toasted hoagie rolls. Add mozzarella cheese and drizzle hot honey.
  6. Spread mayo inside the top bun, then close the sandwich. Bake in the oven for 5 minutes for extra meltiness if desired.
  7. Slice and serve hot.

Notes

  • Toast the rolls to keep them from getting soggy.
  • Swap hot honey with a mix of regular honey and chili flakes if needed.
  • Use shredded rotisserie chicken for a quick version.
