Description

Sticky, smoky, and garlicky mini burgers glazed with honey and chipotle, these sliders deliver a perfect sweet-spicy balance and melt-in-your-mouth juiciness that is ideal for parties or weeknight comfort.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 garlic cloves, minced
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chipotle peppers in adobo
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 12 slider buns
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 6 cheddar cheese slices, halved (12 halves)
  • 1 small red onion, thinly sliced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh cilantro, chopped

Instructions

  1. Preheat your skillet over medium-high heat and preheat the oven to 350°F for toasting the buns.
  2. Combine ground beef, minced garlic, chopped chipotle peppers, honey, salt, and black pepper in a mixing bowl and mix gently until just combined.
  3. Shape the mixture into 12 even slider patties and chill briefly in the refrigerator if time allows to help them hold their shape.
  4. Prepare your cooking vessel by adding olive oil to the heated skillet and letting it shimmer.
  5. Place the patties in the skillet and sear each side for about 3 to 4 minutes until browned. During the last minute of cooking, place halved cheddar slices on top so they melt over the patties.
  6. While the patties finish, toast the slider buns in the oven for about 4 to 5 minutes until lightly golden.
  7. Assemble each slider by placing a patty on the bottom bun, adding a slice of red onion and a sprinkle of chopped cilantro, then topping with the bun. Brush any remaining honey-chipotle glaze over the patties if desired.
  8. Serve the sliders warm and enjoy immediately.

Notes

  • Chill patties before cooking to prevent them from falling apart.
  • Toast buns to avoid sogginess from the glaze.
  • Adjust chipotle amount to control heat level.
  • Make patties ahead and refrigerate for up to 24 hours to save time on the day of serving.
