Description

Sweet, smoky, and comforting Honey BBQ Chicken Rice made with tender chicken glazed in honey barbecue sauce and served over fluffy white rice.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound boneless chicken thighs
  • 1 cup uncooked white rice
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 1/2 cup barbecue sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 3 whole garlic cloves
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F and lightly oil a baking dish.
  2. In a bowl, combine honey, barbecue sauce, soy sauce, olive oil, onion powder, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Place the chicken thighs in the baking dish and arrange the whole garlic cloves around them.
  4. Pour the sauce over the chicken and turn to coat evenly.
  5. Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
  6. Spoon sauce over the chicken and bake for an additional 10 minutes until glazed and cooked through.
  7. Remove from the oven and let rest for 5 minutes.
  8. Cook the white rice according to package instructions.
  9. Serve the chicken and sauce over the cooked rice.

Notes

  • For extra sauce, spoon additional glaze over the rice before serving.
  • Adjust sweetness by adding more or less honey.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 4 days.
