- 1 lb Ground Beef
- 1 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup Parmesan Cheese
- 1 Egg
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1 Onion, chopped
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Tomato Sauce
- 2 cups Tomato Sauce
- 1 Onion, chopped
- 2 cloves Garlic, minced
- Olive Oil for sautéing
- Salt and Pepper to taste
Spaghetti
- 8 oz Spaghetti
Instructions
- Prepare the Meatballs: In a large bowl, mix together ground beef, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, minced garlic, chopped onion, egg, salt, and pepper until well combined. Form into meatballs about the size of a golf ball.
- Cook the Meatballs: Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the meatballs and cook until browned on all sides, about 10 minutes. Remove from skillet and set aside.
- Make the Sauce: In the same skillet, add more olive oil if necessary, then sauté chopped onion and minced garlic until fragrant. Pour in the tomato sauce and simmer for 10 minutes, seasoning with salt and pepper to taste.
- Combine: Return the meatballs to the skillet with the sauce, cover, and simmer for an additional 20 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.
- Cook the Spaghetti: While the meatballs are simmering, cook spaghetti according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- Serve: Plate the spaghetti, top with meatballs and sauce, and sprinkle with additional Parmesan cheese if desired. Enjoy!
Notes
- Don’t Overmix: Be gentle when mixing the meatball ingredients to keep them tender.
- Chill Before Cooking: Let the meatballs chill in the fridge for 30 minutes to help them hold their shape while cooking.
- Use Fresh Ingredients: Fresh herbs and quality meat make a significant difference in flavor.
- Simmer Longer: Allowing the meatballs to simmer longer in the sauce enhances their flavor.
- Save Pasta Water: Reserve some pasta water to thin the sauce if needed.
