Description

Crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside, these Homemade Fried Cheese Bites are a quick, cheesy snack that’s perfect for parties, movie nights, or any time you’re craving comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces Cheddar Cheese Block
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour
  • 2 large Eggs, beaten
  • 2 cups Breadcrumbs
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Garlic Powder
  • 1 teaspoon Paprika
  • Vegetable Oil for frying

Instructions

  1. Cut the cheddar into bite-sized cubes.
  2. Set up three bowls: one with flour, one with beaten eggs, and one with breadcrumbs mixed with salt, garlic powder, and paprika.
  3. Dredge each cheese cube in flour, dip in egg, coat in breadcrumbs, repeat egg and breadcrumb steps for a double layer, and place on a baking sheet.
  4. Freeze the coated cheese bites for 20 minutes.
  5. Heat oil in a heavy-bottomed pot to 350°F.
  6. Fry the bites in small batches for 1 to 2 minutes until golden brown.
  7. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve hot with your favorite dipping sauce.

Notes

  • Freeze before frying to keep the cheese from leaking.
  • Double coating adds extra crunch.
  • Use a thermometer to maintain oil temperature.
