Description

A hearty, comforting casserole made with layers of seasoned ground beef, tender sliced potatoes, sweet onions, and melted cheese, all baked together in a creamy sauce until warm and satisfying.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
  • 1 medium onion, sliced
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder


Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F.
  2. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, then season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
  3. In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
  4. Lightly grease a casserole dish.
  5. Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish, followed by half of the onions and half of the cooked ground beef.
  6. Pour half of the soup mixture evenly over the layers.
  7. Repeat the layers with remaining potatoes, onions, ground beef, and soup mixture.
  8. Top evenly with shredded cheddar cheese.
  9. Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
  10. Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
  11. Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
