- 4 medium potatoes, thinly sliced
- 1 medium onion, sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 can (10.5 ounces) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 cup milk
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 0.5 teaspoon black pepper
- 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground beef until browned, then season with salt, black pepper, and garlic powder.
- In a bowl, mix the cream of mushroom soup and milk until smooth.
- Lightly grease a casserole dish.
- Layer half of the sliced potatoes in the dish, followed by half of the onions and half of the cooked ground beef.
- Pour half of the soup mixture evenly over the layers.
- Repeat the layers with remaining potatoes, onions, ground beef, and soup mixture.
- Top evenly with shredded cheddar cheese.
- Cover with foil and bake for 60 minutes.
- Remove foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes until the cheese is melted and lightly golden.
- Let rest for 10 minutes before serving.
