Halloumi Wraps with Hot Honey are a flavorful, easy-to-make meal featuring crispy halloumi drizzled with a spicy-sweet honey glaze, creamy garlic yogurt sauce, and fresh herbs and vegetables in soft flatbreads.
Ingredients
Scale
- 250g halloumi
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 2 tbsp honey
- 1/2 lemon, juice
- 0.5 tsp dried thyme
- 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
- For Garlic Sauce: 4 tbsp Greek yogurt, 1 lemon, juiced, 2 garlic cloves, minced
- Salad/Toppings: 1 cucumber, finely sliced, 1 red onion, finely sliced, 1/2 lemon juice, 2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped, 2 tbsp mint leaves, finely chopped
- 4 flatbreads
Instructions
- Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Slice the halloumi into 1/2-inch thick pieces and cook in the skillet until golden and crispy on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- In a small bowl, mix honey, lemon juice, dried thyme, and red pepper flakes to create the hot honey glaze.
- Drizzle the hot honey over the cooked halloumi while still warm.
- For the garlic sauce, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and minced garlic in a bowl and mix until smooth.
- Prepare the salad by combining cucumber, red onion, parsley, mint, and lemon juice in a bowl.
- Warm flatbreads slightly if desired. Assemble wraps by spreading garlic sauce on each flatbread, adding salad, and topping with hot honey halloumi.
- Fold and serve immediately.
Notes
- Adjust red pepper flakes to control the spice level in the hot honey.
- Flatbreads can be substituted with pita or tortillas if preferred.
- Serve with extra garlic sauce on the side for dipping.
