Description

Halloumi Wraps with Hot Honey are a flavorful, easy-to-make meal featuring crispy halloumi drizzled with a spicy-sweet honey glaze, creamy garlic yogurt sauce, and fresh herbs and vegetables in soft flatbreads.


Ingredients

  • 250g halloumi
  • 1 tbsp olive oil
  • 2 tbsp honey
  • 1/2 lemon, juice
  • 0.5 tsp dried thyme
  • 0.5 tsp red pepper flakes
  • For Garlic Sauce: 4 tbsp Greek yogurt, 1 lemon, juiced, 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • Salad/Toppings: 1 cucumber, finely sliced, 1 red onion, finely sliced, 1/2 lemon juice, 2 tbsp parsley, finely chopped, 2 tbsp mint leaves, finely chopped
  • 4 flatbreads


Instructions

  1. Preheat a skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
  2. Slice the halloumi into 1/2-inch thick pieces and cook in the skillet until golden and crispy on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
  3. In a small bowl, mix honey, lemon juice, dried thyme, and red pepper flakes to create the hot honey glaze.
  4. Drizzle the hot honey over the cooked halloumi while still warm.
  5. For the garlic sauce, combine Greek yogurt, lemon juice, and minced garlic in a bowl and mix until smooth.
  6. Prepare the salad by combining cucumber, red onion, parsley, mint, and lemon juice in a bowl.
  7. Warm flatbreads slightly if desired. Assemble wraps by spreading garlic sauce on each flatbread, adding salad, and topping with hot honey halloumi.
  8. Fold and serve immediately.

Notes

  • Adjust red pepper flakes to control the spice level in the hot honey.
  • Flatbreads can be substituted with pita or tortillas if preferred.
  • Serve with extra garlic sauce on the side for dipping.
