Description
Ground Beef Ramen Skillet is a quick, hearty, and flavor-packed one-pan meal. Savory ground beef is cooked with ramen noodles and tossed in a sweet and tangy soy-based sauce, making it the perfect weeknight dinner.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 lb ground beef
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil
- 3 packs instant ramen noodles (discard seasoning packets)
- 2 cups water or beef broth
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon hoisin sauce
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon fresh ginger, grated
- 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional)
- 1 cup shredded carrots
- 1/2 cup green onions, sliced
- 1 tablespoon sesame seeds (optional)
Instructions
- Heat sesame oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the ground beef and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes. Drain excess fat if needed.
- Add garlic, ginger, and red pepper flakes (if using) to the skillet. Cook for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
- Add the water (or broth), soy sauce, brown sugar, and hoisin sauce. Stir well to combine and bring to a simmer.
- Break ramen noodles into smaller chunks and add them to the skillet. Stir to submerge the noodles in the liquid.
- Cover and cook for about 5 minutes, or until noodles are tender, stirring occasionally.
- Stir in shredded carrots and most of the green onions, reserving a few for garnish. Cook for 1-2 more minutes.
- Serve hot, topped with sesame seeds and the remaining green onions.
Notes
- For extra veggies, add bell peppers, spinach, or snap peas along with the carrots.
- You can use ground turkey or chicken as a lighter alternative to beef.
- Adjust the soy sauce to taste if using a low-sodium variety.
