Description

Juicy Greek-inspired chicken burgers packed with herbs and topped with a refreshing homemade tzatziki sauce, served with crisp vegetables in soft buns.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 grams ground chicken
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 large egg
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 cup plain yogurt
  • 1 medium cucumber, grated
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill, chopped
  • 4 burger buns
  • 4 lettuce leaves
  • 1 large tomato, sliced
  • 1/2 red onion, thinly sliced

Instructions

  1. Preheat a nonstick pan or grill over medium heat and lightly coat with olive oil.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine ground chicken, breadcrumbs, egg, minced garlic, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper until just mixed.
  3. Ensure the cooking surface is properly heated to prevent sticking.
  4. Shape the mixture into 4 evenly sized patties.
  5. Cook patties for 5 to 6 minutes per side until golden brown and fully cooked through.
  6. In a separate bowl, mix plain yogurt, grated cucumber, lemon juice, and chopped dill to make the tzatziki sauce.
  7. Assemble burgers by placing patties in buns and topping with lettuce, tomato slices, red onion, and tzatziki sauce.

Notes

  • Squeeze excess water from the cucumber before mixing into the sauce.
  • Do not overmix the chicken mixture to keep patties tender.
  • Lightly toast the buns for better texture.
  • Patties can be prepared ahead and stored in the refrigerator before cooking.
