Description

This Gordon Ramsay inspired ground turkey pasta is a hearty, comforting dish made with tender ground turkey, rich tomato sauce, and perfectly cooked pasta, finished with fresh basil and parmesan. It’s easy to make, packed with flavor, and perfect for weeknight dinners or cozy weekend meals.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 oz dry pasta (penne or rigatoni)
  • 1 lb lean ground turkey
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 medium onion, finely chopped
  • 28 oz can crushed tomatoes
  • 2 tbsp tomato paste
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • A handful of fresh basil, chopped
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • Salt and black pepper to taste
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the pasta until al dente. Reserve 1/4 cup of pasta water, then drain the rest.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and cook until translucent, then stir in garlic and cook for another minute.
  3. Add tomato paste and oregano, stirring for 2 minutes until fragrant.
  4. Add ground turkey to the skillet and cook until browned, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Season with salt and pepper.
  5. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, stir well, and let the sauce simmer for 10 to 15 minutes until slightly thickened.
  6. Add the cooked pasta to the skillet along with reserved pasta water. Toss everything together over low heat until the pasta is well coated.
  7. Stir in grated parmesan and chopped basil. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed.
  8. Serve hot, garnished with extra basil or cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Let the ground turkey brown well for extra flavor.
  • Don’t skip the tomato paste — it deepens the sauce beautifully.
  • Use fresh parmesan for better melting and flavor.
  • Store leftovers in the fridge for up to 3 days or freeze for up to 2 months.
