Description

Garlic and Lemon Shrimp Pasta is a light yet flavorful dish featuring tender shrimp sautéed in garlic, olive oil, and fresh lemon juice, tossed with al dente pasta. Perfect for a quick weeknight dinner or an elegant meal for guests.


Ingredients

  • 8 oz spaghetti or linguine
  • 1 lb large shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 3 tbsp olive oil
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (optional)
  • 2 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp lemon zest
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • Salt and black pepper, to taste
  • Grated Parmesan cheese, for serving (optional)


Instructions

  1. Cook pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Reserve 1/2 cup pasta water, then drain.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add garlic and red pepper flakes, sauté for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add shrimp to the skillet, season with salt and pepper, and cook 2–3 minutes per side until pink and opaque.
  4. Stir in lemon juice, lemon zest, and chopped parsley.
  5. Add cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing to combine. If needed, add reserved pasta water to create a light sauce.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with Parmesan cheese if desired.

Notes

  • Do not overcook shrimp to keep them tender.
  • For extra flavor, add a splash of white wine to the skillet when cooking shrimp.
  • This dish pairs well with a side salad or garlic bread.
