Description

Golden and crispy on the outside, soft and savory on the inside, these fried potato stuffed buns are filled with a warmly seasoned potato mixture that makes every bite comforting and satisfying.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying

Instructions

  1. Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  2. In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, green onions, garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika until evenly mixed.
  3. In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and warm water until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
  4. Divide the dough into small balls and flatten each one.
  5. Place a spoonful of the potato filling in the center of each flattened dough piece, then seal the dough around the filling to form buns.
  6. Carefully place the stuffed buns into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
  7. Remove the buns with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
  8. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Let the dough rest for 10 minutes before shaping for easier handling.
  • Keep the filling slightly chilled if you want cleaner shaping.
  • Do not overcrowd the pan while frying, this helps the buns cook evenly.
  • Reheat leftovers in the oven or a skillet to bring back the crisp texture.
