Description
Golden and crispy on the outside, soft and savory on the inside, these fried potato stuffed buns are filled with a warmly seasoned potato mixture that makes every bite comforting and satisfying.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 2 cups mashed potatoes
- 2 tablespoons green onions, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon paprika
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 cups vegetable oil, for frying
Instructions
- Heat the vegetable oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
- In a mixing bowl, combine the mashed potatoes, green onions, garlic, salt, black pepper, and paprika until evenly mixed.
- In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour and warm water until a soft dough forms. Knead for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Divide the dough into small balls and flatten each one.
- Place a spoonful of the potato filling in the center of each flattened dough piece, then seal the dough around the filling to form buns.
- Carefully place the stuffed buns into the hot oil and fry until golden brown and crispy on all sides.
- Remove the buns with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm.
Notes
- Let the dough rest for 10 minutes before shaping for easier handling.
- Keep the filling slightly chilled if you want cleaner shaping.
- Do not overcrowd the pan while frying, this helps the buns cook evenly.
- Reheat leftovers in the oven or a skillet to bring back the crisp texture.
