Description

A warm and comforting bowl of fettuccine coated in rich garlic butter sauce, finished with parmesan, parsley, and a hint of lemon for brightness.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 12 ounces fettuccine
  • 5 cloves garlic, finely minced
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt, or to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup reserved pasta water

Instructions

  1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Cook the fettuccine until al dente, then reserve 1/4 cup of the pasta water and drain.
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté gently until fragrant and golden, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the drained pasta to the skillet and toss to coat in the garlic butter.
  4. Pour in the reserved pasta water gradually while tossing, allowing the sauce to cling to the noodles and thicken slightly.
  5. Stir in the parmesan cheese, lemon juice, chopped parsley, salt, and pepper. Mix until the cheese melts and everything is well combined.
  6. Serve immediately, garnished with extra parsley and parmesan if desired.

Notes

  • Don’t let the garlic brown too much or it may turn bitter.
  • Use fresh lemon juice for a cleaner, brighter flavor.
  • Save more pasta water in case you want to adjust the sauce texture.
  • Garnish with red pepper flakes if you like a little heat.
