Description

Dough Balls with Garlic Butter are soft, fluffy bread bites brushed with a rich and aromatic garlic butter. Perfect as a side dish, appetizer, or snack for any meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • Dough Balls:
  • 260 g (2 cups) strong white bread flour
  • 7 g (1 packet) rapid rise yeast
  • 1 ½ tablespoons sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 120 ml (½ cup) slightly warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil, plus extra for greasing
  • Garlic Butter:
  • 115 g (½ cup) unsalted butter, softened
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 teaspoon dried parsley
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon sea salt flakes
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a small bowl, dissolve yeast and sugar in warm water and let sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large bowl, combine flour, salt, and garlic powder. Add yeast mixture and olive oil.
  3. Knead dough for 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic. Cover with a damp cloth and let rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  4. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a baking dish or sheet with olive oil.
  5. Punch down the risen dough and divide into small balls (about 1-2 inches in diameter). Place them in the prepared dish, leaving a small gap between each ball.
  6. Prepare garlic butter: In a small saucepan or microwave, melt butter. Stir in minced garlic, parsley, garlic powder, sea salt, and olive oil until combined.
  7. Brush half of the garlic butter over the dough balls before baking.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, until golden brown and cooked through.
  9. Remove from oven and brush with remaining garlic butter. Serve warm.

Notes

  • Ensure water is warm but not hot to avoid killing the yeast.
  • For extra flavor, sprinkle a little parmesan cheese on top before baking.
  • Leftover dough balls can be reheated in the oven or air fryer.
  • Use fresh garlic for a stronger, more aromatic flavor.
