Description

Donut Revisited brings classic comfort with a modern twist. These golden, fluffy, vanilla-scented donuts are easy to make, endlessly customizable, and sure to steal the spotlight at any gathering.

Ingredients

  • All-Purpose Flour: 3 ½ cups – for structure and softness
  • Granulated Sugar: ½ cup – adds sweetness and helps browning
  • Active Dry Yeast: 2 ¼ teaspoons – helps dough rise and puff
  • Whole Milk: 1 cup (warm) – activates yeast and adds richness
  • Unsalted Butter: 4 tablespoons (melted) – creates a tender crumb
  • Eggs: 2 large – bind the dough and enrich texture
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon – balances sweetness
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon – adds warm bakery aroma
  • Vegetable Oil: for frying – neutral flavor and high smoke point
  • Optional Glaze or Toppings: powdered sugar, chocolate, sprinkles, etc.

Instructions

  1. Preheat Your Equipment: Heat oil in a deep pot to 350°F. Set up a wire rack with paper towels.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a mixing bowl, dissolve yeast in warm milk with 1 tsp sugar. Let sit until foamy. Add remaining sugar, eggs, butter, vanilla, and salt. Mix in flour gradually to form dough.
  3. Prepare Your Cooking Vessel: Oil a bowl, place dough inside, cover, and let rise 1–1.5 hours until doubled.
  4. Assemble the Dish: Roll dough to ½ inch thick. Cut donuts and let them rise again for 30 minutes.
  5. Cook to Perfection: Fry a few at a time, flipping once golden (1 minute per side). Drain on rack.
  6. Finishing Touches: Glaze or sugar coat while warm. Let set 5–10 minutes.
  7. Serve and Enjoy: Enjoy fresh and warm, or store for later treats.
