- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 and 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter (softened)
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 cup whole milk
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 and 1/2 cups powdered sugar
- 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar (for topping)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake tin with paper liners.
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, beat butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, then mix in vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, alternating with milk, mixing just until combined.
- Divide the batter evenly into the liners, filling each about two-thirds full.
- Bake for 18–20 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Cool in the tin for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
- For the frosting, beat softened butter with powdered sugar and a pinch of cinnamon until smooth.
- Frost the cooled cupcakes and finish with a sprinkle of cinnamon sugar on top.

- Make sure all ingredients are at room temperature for a smoother batter.
- Don’t overmix to avoid dense cupcakes.
