Description

Crescent Cheese Danishes are a quick and delicious pastry treat made with crescent roll dough, a creamy cheese filling, and a touch of sweetness. Perfect for breakfast, brunch, or dessert, they come together in minutes with minimal ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 2 tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 12 tsp milk (for glaze)
  • Optional: fruit preserves or jam (strawberry, raspberry, etc.)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  2. In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk until smooth.
  3. Unroll crescent dough and separate into 4 rectangles (press perforations together if needed).
  4. Cut each rectangle in half to form 8 squares. Fold the edges slightly to form a border.
  5. Place squares on the baking sheet and spoon about 1 tbsp of the cheese filling in the center of each.
  6. Optional: add a small spoonful of fruit preserves on top of the cheese mixture.
  7. Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
  8. While danishes bake, whisk powdered sugar and milk to form a glaze.
  9. Let danishes cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze before serving.

Notes

  • Make sure the cream cheese is softened to blend smoothly.
  • You can make them ahead and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
  • Try using puff pastry for a flakier version.
