Ingredients
Scale
- 1 can (8 oz) refrigerated crescent roll dough
- 4 oz cream cheese, softened
- 2 tbsp granulated sugar
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg yolk
- 1/4 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
- 1–2 tsp milk (for glaze)
- Optional: fruit preserves or jam (strawberry, raspberry, etc.)
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
- In a small bowl, mix softened cream cheese, granulated sugar, vanilla extract, and egg yolk until smooth.
- Unroll crescent dough and separate into 4 rectangles (press perforations together if needed).
- Cut each rectangle in half to form 8 squares. Fold the edges slightly to form a border.
- Place squares on the baking sheet and spoon about 1 tbsp of the cheese filling in the center of each.
- Optional: add a small spoonful of fruit preserves on top of the cheese mixture.
- Bake for 12–15 minutes or until golden brown and puffed.
- While danishes bake, whisk powdered sugar and milk to form a glaze.
- Let danishes cool slightly, then drizzle with glaze before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the cream cheese is softened to blend smoothly.
- You can make them ahead and store in the fridge for up to 3 days.
- Try using puff pastry for a flakier version.
