Ingredients

  • 1 cup orzo pasta

Instructions

  1. Heat a large skillet over medium heat.
  2. Add the olive oil, then cook the diced onion for about 3 minutes until softened. Stir in the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant.
  3. Add the ground beef and cook, breaking it up with a spoon, until browned and cooked through.
  4. Stir in the orzo, then pour in the beef broth. Season with salt and black pepper.
  5. Bring to a gentle simmer and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until the orzo is tender and most of the liquid is absorbed.
  6. Lower the heat, then stir in the heavy cream and parmesan until the sauce turns smooth and creamy.
  7. Sprinkle with chopped parsley and serve warm.

  • For the creamiest texture, stir the orzo occasionally so it does not stick to the skillet.
  • If the sauce thickens too much, loosen it with a small splash of beef broth while reheating.
