- 1/2 cup Breadcrumbs
- 1 large Egg
- 3 cloves Garlic, minced
- 1/2 medium Onion, finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper
- 2 Chipotle Peppers in Adobo, minced
- 1 cup Heavy Cream
- 1/2 cup Chicken Broth
- 1 cup Mozzarella Cheese, shredded
- 4 large Hoagie Rolls
- 2 tablespoons Butter (optional)
- Fresh Cilantro or Parsley, chopped
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F for toasting the buns or melting the cheese.
- In a large bowl, mix ground beef, breadcrumbs, egg, garlic, onion, salt, and pepper. Form into 1½-inch meatballs.
- Heat a skillet over medium heat, add oil, and brown the meatballs on all sides for 6-8 minutes.
- Add chipotle peppers, cream, and chicken broth to the skillet. Simmer for 10 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Slice hoagie rolls and toast in the oven for 5 minutes. Optional: brush with butter before toasting.
- Spoon meatballs into buns, top with mozzarella, and broil for 2-3 minutes until cheese is melted and golden.
- Garnish with fresh herbs and serve hot.
