Description

Creamy Broccoli Casserole is a comforting side dish made with tender broccoli, a creamy sauce, and a crunchy topping. Perfect for holiday dinners or any meal that needs a hearty, veggie-packed addition.


Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh broccoli florets, steamed or blanched
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup crispy fried onions (optional, for topping)
  • Salt and pepper, to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until smooth.
  3. Add the steamed broccoli florets to the bowl and toss to coat evenly in the creamy mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  4. Transfer the broccoli mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
  5. Top with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
  7. If using, sprinkle crispy fried onions on top during the last 5 minutes of baking for extra crunch.
  8. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.

Notes

  • Feel free to use a different cream soup like cream of chicken or cream of celery for variation.
  • For a lighter version, you can substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream and use reduced-fat mayonnaise.
