Description
Creamy Broccoli Casserole is a comforting side dish made with tender broccoli, a creamy sauce, and a crunchy topping. Perfect for holiday dinners or any meal that needs a hearty, veggie-packed addition.
Ingredients
Scale
- 4 cups fresh broccoli florets, steamed or blanched
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1 can (10.5 oz) cream of mushroom soup
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/2 cup crispy fried onions (optional, for topping)
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine sour cream, mayonnaise, cream of mushroom soup, garlic powder, onion powder, and half of the shredded cheddar cheese. Stir until smooth.
- Add the steamed broccoli florets to the bowl and toss to coat evenly in the creamy mixture. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Transfer the broccoli mixture to the prepared baking dish and spread it out evenly.
- Top with the remaining shredded cheddar cheese and grated Parmesan cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until the casserole is bubbly and the cheese is melted and slightly golden.
- If using, sprinkle crispy fried onions on top during the last 5 minutes of baking for extra crunch.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
Notes
- Feel free to use a different cream soup like cream of chicken or cream of celery for variation.
- For a lighter version, you can substitute Greek yogurt for the sour cream and use reduced-fat mayonnaise.
- Top with extra cheese or breadcrumbs for an even cheesier or crunchier finish.
